UPDATE: Since this is still getting lots of views (hello and welcome!) I’d like to update my review here. I have since destashed ALL of these colors to friends. After the initial hype wore down, these really weren’t that spectacular. Despite trying to work with them for a while and trying different techniques, these were too messy and too slippery for me. Someone who loves creams that never dry down may love them. I didn’t. 

FINALLY! I got my hands on some of the NYX Liquid Suedes! Get ready for a long review 🙂

Many Monday Swatches! ~ NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Lipsticks & Butter Glosses

Happy Monday everyone! In anticipation of the new NYX Liquid Suede Lipsticks online (mine which should be arriving in the mail sometime this week!!! 😀 ) I decided to go back and swatch ALL the NYX lipsticks that I currently own! The Soft Matte Lip Creams are pretty famous now with nearly everyone owning at least one, but I figured swatching my collection would be useful for you and me too 😉 It’s always good to remember what I already own!

Happy Monday everyone! I had a conversation with the lovely Cat yesterday that prompted me to remember that I already owned Stila’s Stay All Day Lipstick in Fiery. Which of course prompted me to remember all the liquid lipsticks I do own! So of course, what better way to remember them then to swatch them all?

Happy Tuesday everyone! This is actually an embarrassingly old post from my tumblr that I only just realised I never added here! So without further ado, here’s a LOT of swatches of potential my-lips-but-better shades!

HOT HOT HOT! – Orange, Coral, Neon Red Lipstick Swatches!

OH MY GOSH, it was FINALLY warm today and I could not be happier! Winter seems to be finally over and the sun is out again, hence my sudden urge to wear bright lipsticks. As much as I love fall weather and my red and burgundies, sometimes a little fiery lipstick is a perfect pairing to bright sunshine! Last spring I went out and bought a bajillion different oranges and corals hoping to find The One, and now its spring again and I still haven’t found a coral that doesn’t look crazy. Either I’m too used to how I look in reds, or my skin tone just hates coral! Anyways, below you’ll find a selection of some oranges, corals, and orange-reds that I own 🙂

sunday quickie: ciaté liquid velvet comparisons

Happy Sunday! Just poppin’ by between baking scones and other goodies for brunch to show a little comparison of liquid lipsticks. As you may know, I’m still on the fence on returning my new ciaté liquid velvet lipstick or not. I adore the color, but it cracks so fast on my lips! And for $18, I’d really rather it NOT do that, haha.

So without further ado, a little color comparison between the ciaté and some other liquid lippies I have!

1. Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick – Berlin
2. Ciaté Liquid Velvet Matte Lipstick – Smitten
3. NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream – San Paulo
4. NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream – Cannes

The KVD is the thinnest consistency, and cracks the least over time. It’s also the most neon! If it wasn’t so BRIGHT it would be very close to the ciaté color I love.
The NYX’s are both what they sound like: soft creams. These do crack on me (Cannes more than San Paulo) but they are SO CHEAP it’s really hard for me to complain too much! These are honestly the most comfortable to wear even with the cracking issues over time. Neither of these shades are close to the ciaté but after lots and lots of googling around, the NYX in Antwerp seems like it might be closer to the ciaté Smitten I love so much!

Who else loves liquid lipsticks?
Its been my obsession lately and with the recent addition of Melted Velvet and Berry to my collection, I wanted to do a quick comparison between some of my red liquid lipsticks! Its super snowy here right now, so the “sunlight” photo still looks a little dim, but I’m promise all five of these lipsticks are very pigmented!

lipstick swatchfest!

Its absolutely still fall/winter in my book (if there’s still snow outside, its still winter!) so of course I’m going to continue wearing all my dark reds and berry lipsticks 🙂 I actually mourn when its springtime despite how much I hate ice, because I really really love my dark lippies and they look a little bit odd in the bright hot spring/summer sun. Oh well!
