A Belated Happy Halloween! Poison Ivy with Indie Makeup

Hope everyone’s Halloween was fun and full of candy! This year I did two costumes (Poison Ivy and Peggy Carter) but I made the extra effort for my Poison Ivy makeup. As an additional challenge I tried to use only indie makeup!

Halloween Makeup Roundup – Five Looks from The Wicked & The Divine Comic Book

Happy November 1 everyone! Halloween is my favorite holiday yet I found myself this year with no solid plans and no costume! So what’s a girl to do? Whip out her makeup collection and make an awesome Halloween face 🙂

This year I took inspiration from one of my favorite comic series, The Wicked & The Divine. The makeup and outfits on the characters are all so unique, detailed, and bold. I channeled four of my favorite characters to created five cool looks perfect for Halloween.

Shiro Cosmetics – Harry Potter Collection

Welp. Shiro Cosmetics has been EVERYWHERE this week.

I mean, look at that! I can’t even screenshot it properly without zooming all the way out, and this is just from the past few days!

For those who, I dunno, don’t stalk reddit/indiemakeupandmore like I do, and aren’t insanely huge Harry Potter fans, maybe you hadn’t heard about this until just now…..

But yes, Shiro Cosmetics has an AMAZING Harry Potter line. They’re some of my favorite products from the brand, some that I use daily.

Just for your edification:

I HIGHLY, highly recommend these. The best bets across the board are: Amortentia lip gloss, White Chocolate Frog highlight (literally looks amazing on everyone I know, from NC10 to NW40), Constant Vigilance eyeshadow, and There’s No Such Thing As Magic eyeshadow (or custom lipgloss!)

Seriously, have fun and go nuts shopping.

BUT REMEMBER THIS REALLY IMPORTANT FACT: Shiro has literally gotten over a thousand new orders in the past few days. They’re a tiny indie company and everything is handmade. It will most likely take a month in turnaround-time to receive your order.

I am strongly emphasizing that point because many people who have never shopped indies before are going to buy these and then not realize how long they have to wait. This isn’t Amazon or Target- this stuff is handmade and it’ll take a while for you to receive it, especially when they’re this overwhelmed.

But hey- I guarantee you’re gonna love it.

Birds of a Feather: Greens

It’s a Saturday swatch party at my place and everyone is invited 🙂

I’ve had quite a backlog of my Birds of a Feather series that I’ve been meaning to post… so I’m procrastinating on packing for my move by playing with my makeup! Today I have jewels to show off: my emeralds! Now not all of these are emerald, but these are my dark greens to my weird olives. I love green- it really helps show off the green in my hazel eyes. Alas, I rarely wear it as anything other than liner. I just can’t seem to get a fully green eye look to work on me! Any tips and tutorials from you guys would be loved ❤
