I’m catching up on my backlog of posts I’ve been meaning to get around to. I’m hoping to finish it all before the new year 😀 Today I have for you the swatches from Notoriously Morbid’s November vanishing cabinet subscription. This month’s theme was “Eternal Glory”, inspired by The Goblet of Fire (Harry Potter #4).
Hello and welcome back to a much-delayed installment of Birds of a Feather, where I swatch a whole pile of similar colors next to each other! Today, in the spirit of September and the rapidly coming fall season, I broke out some of my favorite warm brown autumn shades. These are 99% matte shades.
These are primarily loose shadows, although I do show off my custom (massive) GlamTech palette of pressed shadows and swatch some of those too!
If you love pumpkins, firesides, coffee, butterscotch, oversized sweaters….. well this is the right place for you.
Welp. Shiro Cosmetics has been EVERYWHERE this week.
I mean, look at that! I can’t even screenshot it properly without zooming all the way out, and this is just from the past few days!
For those who, I dunno, don’t stalk reddit/indiemakeupandmore like I do, and aren’t insanely huge Harry Potter fans, maybe you hadn’t heard about this until just now…..
But yes, Shiro Cosmetics has an AMAZING Harry Potter line. They’re some of my favorite products from the brand, some that I use daily.
Just for your edification:
- Swatches of the Harry Potter eyeshadows part 1
- Swatches of the Harry Potter eyeshadows part 2
- an Eye of the Day look with some of my favorite shadows
- all the lipglosses and face products from the Harry Potter collection
- There’s No Such Thing As Magic eyeshadow turned into a custom lipgloss
I HIGHLY, highly recommend these. The best bets across the board are: Amortentia lip gloss, White Chocolate Frog highlight (literally looks amazing on everyone I know, from NC10 to NW40), Constant Vigilance eyeshadow, and There’s No Such Thing As Magic eyeshadow (or custom lipgloss!)
Seriously, have fun and go nuts shopping.
BUT REMEMBER THIS REALLY IMPORTANT FACT: Shiro has literally gotten over a thousand new orders in the past few days. They’re a tiny indie company and everything is handmade. It will most likely take a month in turnaround-time to receive your order.
I am strongly emphasizing that point because many people who have never shopped indies before are going to buy these and then not realize how long they have to wait. This isn’t Amazon or Target- this stuff is handmade and it’ll take a while for you to receive it, especially when they’re this overwhelmed.
But hey- I guarantee you’re gonna love it.
(Note: this was totally supposed to be published yesterday but apparently my queue decided to be difficult :P)
Tuesday Wednesday! Today I have swatches of Notoriously Morbid’s October Vanishing Cabinet subscription box, with the Harry Potter ghosts theme! It was actually a VC overstock box, and since I don’t have a subscription I’m really happy I snagged one! I’m a total sucker for anything Harry Potter and I’ve always wanted to try NM’s subscription!
YAY! I have the last of the Shiro Harry Potter collection to show you! Today is the Chocolate Frog highlighter and bronzer, as well as all five lipglosses 🙂
Hi guys! Happy Sunday 🙂
I do have the rest of the Shiro Harry Potter collection for you guys soon! I was waiting to get the rest of the glosses in the mail so that I could show you guys all five glosses as well as the Chocolate Frog duo.
In the meantime, I’m happy to show you guys an EOTD using the new Shiro colors. These eye shadows are perfect for autumn!
Oh my gosh you guys. I knew these would be good, but I didn’t expect just how much I would love them! I think Shiro’s MM&M Collection seriously knocked it out of the park in terms of beautiful fall colors, pigmentation, ease of use, and all-around awesomeness!
There’s a billion photos so I am breaking the posts up into multiple parts 😀
