Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching (gasp!) and for all those who love the holiday, I have two V-day appropriate lipsticks to show you! They’re also two of my new La Crème lipsticks that I have to review here. I bought Cinnamon Kiss sometime last year and loved the formula, so I picked up Jelly Bean and Lollipop last time Ulta had a 50% sale 🙂
Lollipop is a glittery magenta pink and Jelly Bean is a semi-opaque cherry jelly bean color.
I strongly like Jelly Bean more than the other. Lollipop suffers from the problem a lot of glitter lipsticks have; when the color wears off the glitter still sticks around. It’s actually really hard to wipe off at the end of the day; the glitter just stays put. It’s very pretty and fun on, but dang is it hard to get off!
Lollipop’s glitter makes it a fun metallic color if you don’t mind the glitter all over your lips at the end of the day. Jelly Bean wears off way more evenly.
Both are staining, and I like that about lipsticks. That means they last 5-7 hours depending on food/drinks during the day. Jelly Bean sticks around for a long time, looking like a popsicle stain color.
Lollipop actually is very similar to another crazy glitter lipstick in my collection, Urban Decay Super Saturated High Gloss Lip Color crayon lipstick in Big Bang. It’s so fun to wear but the glitter acting like glue on my lips is not fun to get off.
UD’s Big Bang is more saturated in one swipe than Lollipop, but Lollipop can definitely be built up to that opacity.
So there you have it; a sparkly pink and a classic cherry red for Valentines! I do love the La Crème formula for being hydrating and smooth, but I think the glitter ones are a required taste.
Have a great day!
