Massive Copper/Rose Gold/Bronze Indie Eyeshadow Post ~ Silk Naturals, Geek Chic, Victorian Disco, Dark Matter Makeup, Looxi (& one Stila)

The title says it all, really πŸ™‚
In anticipation of ultra-cute indie companyΒ Hello Waffle‘s brand new Blushed collection (ROSE GOLDSSSS!!!) I swatched every single coppery and rose gold loose pigment shadow (and one Stila) trying to see if I already own anything comparable. Thank goodness I don’t, because my hunger for rose golds makes me want the whole shebang πŸ™‚

Anyways, this will be a very pic heavy post! There are 10 eyeshadows from Silk Naturals, Geek Chic Cosmetics, Victorian Disco, Dark Matter Makeup, and Looxi Beauty.

You can see that 1. SN Sandwich is more golden than 2. SN Torrent. Torrent looks more ‘rose gold’ although on the darker side. #3 actually has a really pretty rose glitter in it that makes it look a little shifty.

1. SN Sandwich / 2. SN Torrent / 3. VD Why is it Always You Three? / 4. VD Flesh Memory

#3 is actually a favorite of mine. It’s a great single lid color.

3. VD Why is it Always You Three? / 4. VD Flesh Memory / 5. VD Owls / 6. GC Princess in Distress

#5 So Many Owls and #6 Princess in Distress are two of the sheerer shades. They’re good for highlighting or for light washes of color. Princess is much sparklier.

5. VD So Many Owls / 6. GC Princess in Distress / 7. DMM Emmy

Emmy is the closest to rose gold. Its a beautiful satin finish.

1. SN Sandwich / 2. SN Torrent / 3. VD Why is it Always You Three? / 4.VD Flesh Memory / 5. VD So Many Owls / 6. GC Princess in Distress / 7. DMM Emmy

In my opinion #7 Emmy is the closest to rose gold. It’s more of a satin than #2 Torrent which is more like a bronze gold metallic.

3. VD Why is it Always You Three? / 4.VD Flesh Memory / 5. VD So Many Owls / 6. GC Princess in Distress / 7. DMM Emmy / 8. GC 12% of a Plan

7. DMM Emmy / 8. GC 12% of a Plan / 9. Stila Golightly / 10. Looxi Mystic

#10 Mystic is more metallic than #9 Golightly which has more of a satin finish. Both of these are less warm and golden as #4 Flesh Memory that has an almost orange sheen.

6. GC Princess in Distress / 7. DMM Emmy / 8. GC 12% of a Plan / 9. Stila Golightly / 10. Looxi Mystic

You can see the difference between Golightly and Mystic best here. Similar tones, but Mystic is more bright and metallic.

Are you still alive after all those photos? IΒ barely am, haha πŸ˜€

I think out of all ten of these shadows, only Emmy and Torrent come close to being “rose gold”. Emmy is brighter and rosier than Torrent. So Many Owls and Princess in Distress are both sheer, even over glitter glue, and are better for highlighting than full coverage. I’m still on the hunt for the One True Rose Gold so I think I can justify buying 90% of Hello Waffle’s new collection πŸ™‚

Thanks for reading all of this! I love doing color family swatches and rediscovering my own collection!

til later lovelies,
xoxo Swatchlette
